Rock, wood, glass, ceramic, fabric, metal, plastic, canvas, paper, miniatures and pumpkins. Porous surfaces usually need a second pass; slick surfaces need to be clean and grease-free first.

Yes. The pigment is opaque, so light shades cover dark surfaces in one or two passes. For consistent results on very dark material, lay a white base coat first.

Both, depending on timing. Wet ink washes off skin and most hard surfaces with soap and water. Once the pigment layer has cured it is water-resistant and fade-resistant.

Touch-dry within minutes. Full cure takes considerably longer — allow 24 hours before sealing a piece, washing it or putting it outdoors.

Only for pieces that will be handled, washed or left outdoors. Cured acrylic is already water-resistant. The sealing guide covers when it is worth it.

Yes, if it is heat-set with an iron after curing and then washed cold and inside out. The fabric guide has the full method.

Shake with the cap on for ten to fifteen seconds, then press the nib on scrap paper a few times until the tip darkens and the stroke is even.

Shake it again, then press the nib against damp kitchen paper for twenty seconds to soften any crust, wipe the tip and prime on scrap paper. The troubleshooting guide works through the rest.

Over-priming, or storage nib-down. Press the excess out on scrap paper and store the marker flat from then on.

Flat, capped firmly, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Nib-down floods the tip and nib-up dries it.

The markers are not designed to be refilled. The sealed reservoir and baffle stack are what keep the flow even, and opening the barrel disturbs both.

The formula is water-based, low-odour and conforms to ASTM D-4236 and EN71, and is described as safe for crafters of all ages. Supervise younger children as with any art supply, and check the packaging for the age guidance on your set.

Very little. They are water-based rather than solvent-based, so there is no white spirit smell and no need to ventilate the room the way an oil-based paint pen requires.

Decorate the outside only, keep well clear of the rim, seal the piece and hand-wash it. Do not put decorated glassware or ceramics through a dishwasher.

They are art markers, not body paint, and are not intended for use on skin. Wet ink washes off with soap and water.
